Keri sits on a hillside in the far south of Zakynthos, away from the island’s busier resorts. Low-rise development and a small year-round community give the area a calm, lived-in feel, and the water along this stretch of coast is some of the clearest on the island.
Drive up to the Keri cliffs for sunset, where the land drops more than 300 metres into the Ionian and a lighthouse has stood since 1925. Down at the harbour in Limni Keriou, small boats head out to the sea caves along the coast and to Marathonisi, the islet in Laganas Bay where loggerhead turtles come ashore to nest. When you want more going on, the restaurants and bars of Laganas are a short drive away.
Fly into Zakynthos International Airport, which has direct flights from across the UK and Europe through the summer season. From there it’s a 20-minute drive south to Keri. You can also reach the island by ferry from Kyllini on the mainland, arriving into Zakynthos Town.
